Sonic had a more serious side at times, but was still a wisecracking smartass that he was in the comics, and AOSTH. the voice talent on this show was superb. it's storyline focused still on the Freedom fighters trying to stop Robotnik, but it had a much more serious tone, while still having quite a bit of humour along with it. instead, this was a much Darker sonic Cartoon. when the big day arrived, i was expecting something on hte silly side like the comics. i believe i first heard of the sonic cartoon via an issue of Disney adventures (which also mentioned another great show ReBoot). ABC was my favourite saturday morning channel at the time, airing such great shows as Beetlejuice, darkwing Duck, C.O.WBOYS of Moo Mesa, and more. this one would air on saturday mornings on ABC.

one that would focus more on the Archie series at the time. Not too long after AOSTH made it's debut, a 2nd Sonic Cartoon was in the works. other voice work involved Gary Chalk as Grounder (and later in Underground, voice Robotnik), and former musician Long John Baldry would be the voice work behind Dr. better known as Steve Urkel, the beloved nerd from the hit sitcom Family Matters. it would be the first major time we would hear the voice behind the blue hedgehog, and nobody would have ever expected it to be Jaleel White.
The humour was top notch, and the voice acting as well. the original Archie comics focused more on a cartoony style behind it, mostly stylized more from the first Sonic cartoon released, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, which focused more on the games, while itself keeping with a more goofy, madcap story. Sonic was a member of the Freedom Fighters, a group of animals, essentially trying to stop the Evil Dr. so, before i knew the real story behind sonic and his pals, i was introduced to the Archie (and later Dic) Characters that accompanied sonic. i however, started my love with the Archie Comics released in the early 90's (And surprisingly still going strong). Unlike most Sonic fans, i didn't start my fandom via the Sega games. but lets bring you up to speed on my disliking of Sonic Underground. and when you think about it, it's good they stopped there. Underground would be the final American Sonic toon.

Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog, Sonic SATAM, Sonic the Hedgehog: the movie (A sonic OAV), Sonic Underground, and finally Sonic X. the laughing stock of hte 5 major animated incarnations of Sonic the hedgehog. one of them, The Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon, is one that quickly came to mind, and then there was this abomination. Some that were just nonsensical, some that were dull and boring, but then i thought of shows that letme down, and didn't live up to the predecessors of old. When eJm asked me to help out with the Tooncrap idea, i thought of several really terrible shows. Later, when Robotnik attempted to roboticize Sonia the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna knocked a Swatbot into the machine instead, which caused an overload in the system, as Robotnik noted that one cannot roboticize a robot.This is mostly introductory stuff, and i still have to work on reviewing Underground itself, so this is basic backstory to my interest in sonic, and Satam. Robotnik attempted to have Sleet roboticized twice for his betrayal, only sparing him at the offer to locate Dingo and the broken Emerald. When Sleet stole the Chaos Emerald from Robotnik's Fortress of Altitude and accidentally let Dingo shatter it, he went back to Robotropolis in an attempt to ask the scientist for help.
